The Pollinate Mobile app focuses on discovery, which users can explore & discover artists and art communities along with upcoming art events from communities and even individual artists.

I was responsible for the initial user flows, wireframes, prototyping, and user interface.

Problems

Our main objective is making the discovery of artists, events, and communities easier for users.

Another task is differentiating between individual artists, art collectives, events, and art communities. Although I was part of the design strategy, I worked on the best way to visualize these groups and how to distinguish each group & category.

An additional thing to consider is considering the user flow and user journeys between users who love art but aren’t artists, artists, and art communities.

Proposed Solution

To help non-art users and artists, we designed 2 similar but different experiences.

For non-art users, such as Art Lovers & Art Collectors, we focused more on the discovery experience for them. Users can follow artists and favorite some of their works and art communities, along with bookmarking events.

For artists, although they have most of the discovery experience as non-art users, they also have the feature of posting their artwork Artists can also include information about their studio space, so users can discover more of their works.
